Baptism & BBQ

Sunday, July 11  ·  12:30 – 5pm


We are having a BBQ for the entire church, followed by baptism in the Delaware River.

Lunch is free and there will be games and activities for kids, including a jumping castle.
Bring your entire family!

Never been baptised? Baptism is a public display of our love for Jesus and our commitment to follow him wholeheartedly. We are baptised out of obedience to Jesus' words in Matthew 28:19.

3-on-3 Basketball Tournament

217youth

3-on-3 Basketball Tournament

Saturday, July 24  ·  3pm – 5pm


We are hosting a 3-on-3 tournament at Farmingdale Park's basketball courts.
Teams will be formed for ages 13-18 and 18+.

Games will run for 15 or 20 minutes each, depending on the number
of teams, with an awards ceremony following the final game.

We are still looking for people to help make this event possible:

  • referees
  • score-/timekeepers
  • set up crew
  • registration crew
  • food crew

Games begin at 3pm. Teams serving should arrive by 2:45pm.

No One Goes Hungry

Families still go hungry.


You have provided more than 200 meals since we launched on February 21.

Let's continue to do this together – we can feed an entire neighborhood!
Bring canned or other non-perishable food to the next weekend service.

All donated food will be distributed directly to the Hamilton community in partnership with the Bromley Community Center. Contact to be part of the team that makes this possible.

The project team plans for and runs community events, like these below or those still being planned.

Team members serve and build relationships with the community, engage children through games and contests, and help out wherever needed.

You should be:
Friendly, outgoing, willing to help wherever needed.

The 217kids team provides a safe, nurturing environment for our children.

Team members engage kids by playing games, singing worship songs and interacting with Bible characters.

You should be:
Compassionate, patient, creative.

The 217youth team is planning the launch of youth ministry.

Team members will build relationships with middle and high school students, and plan every aspect of this new ministry.

You should be:
Outgoing, compassionate, patient, creative.

The café team makes the theater smell like coffee.
And keeps everyone else moving.

You should be:
Friendly, outgoing, willing to help wherever needed.

Media Team

The media team uses audio, video, lighting and projection technology to support and enhance the worship experience.

As camera and lighting operators, sound engineers and presentation specialists, all team members make the use of technology as transparent and seamless as possible.

You should be:
Technically minded, detail oriented, willing to learn.

Commitment:
4½ hours on Sundays

Movers and Shakers Team

The movers and shakers prepare the movie theater for the weekend service.

Team members are the first to arrive, the last to leave. They load and unload the trailer, set up and tear down the auditorium.

You should be:
Able to lift 10-50lbs, detail oriented, willing to learn.

Commitment:
4½ hours on Sundays

Parking / Greeting Teams

The parking and greeting teams ensure traffic flow and safety in the parking lot, and guide visitors to the front doors.

Most people make their first impression of a church within 7 minutes. These team members are the first point of contact for everyone who visits the church, and often the reason why people are comfortable in a weekend service or willing to come back.

You should be:
Methodical thinker (or Tetris player), outgoing, willing to smile.

2½ hours on Sundays

Ushering Team

Ushers prepare visitors for the worship experience.

Team members help guests to their seats, assist families with special needs and receive the offering. They provide a personal touch and lasting impression for every guest.

You should be:
Friendly, outgoing, willing to help wherever needed.

Worship Team

The worship team plans for and leads authentic worship experiences.

Each team member, whether instrumentalists or vocalists, encounters God regularly and leads others to do the same.

You should be:
Musically proficient, engaged regularly in worship, humble.*

God gives us creativity that would inspire people to engage with the Gospel!

Work with a small team to dream, design, build and refine all public (mostly visual) communication of the church.

You should have:
Good design sense, some experience or willingness to learn, availability to work strange hours.
